Fasoulis - Ελλάς
Fasoulis is the descendant of the Italian puppet Fagiolino who came to Greece in 1840. The one we see today is a new Fasoulis since the traditional character disappeared long time ago. The Grecian puppet-masters, who are trying to rescue his traditional characteristics, put him on the stage with an esthetic similar to other traditional European puppets (Pulcinella e Punch). They have deleted the text, and the voice is deformed by the “pivetta”. The story is based on following scenes with the typical carnival traits that makes it universal.
