Polichinelle - France
Even Polichinelle descends from the Neapolitan mask of Pulcinella, but the French heir’s personality is more similar to that of the master rather then that of the servant. Main character in harsh scenes, he’s choleric, gascon and a liar. Nowadays the puppet Polichinelle risks extinction like many others of his family. Some of the contemporary proposals – rich of contaminations and new ideas – represent him on the stage in a more modern dress, but always with the same spirit.
